Nothing Short of Grace

Joan Szymko

Composed to be accessible to singers of varying skills for a women’s choral festival finale, “Nothing Short of Grace” is appropriate for any occasion that features reflection on those challenges requiring inner fortitude. Nothing Short of Grace

Joan Szymko

To take one step takes courage.

To take one step takes heart.

It takes heart.

But to keep going, never knowing

what may lie ahead.

To choose the unknown and

look fear in the face:

That is nothing short of grace.

To take one step takes courage.

To take one step takes heart.

It takes heart.

Sister, keep going,

though you may not know what lies ahead.

Choose the unknown and

look fear in the face:

That is nothing short of grace.
